USING YOUR DEBIT CARD

There are several ways to use your debit card to make purchases, pay bills and get money:

  • Make purchases anywhere Debit Cards are accepted
    1. Select the “credit” option;
    2. Sign the receipt just as you would when using a credit card.
    3. The amount of the purchase will be deducted automatically from your checking account.  Remember to record the transaction in your check register.

  • Have recurring payments charged to your card
    1. Contact your utility companies and/or other service providers to see if they accept MasterCard;
    2. Provide the information to the merchant that they require to process your recurring monthly payments;
    3. The amount of your payment will be applied to your debit card monthly on the date you agree upon with the merchant;
    4. The amount of the payment will be deducted automatically from your checking account.
  • Receive cash back at the time of purchase
    1. Select the “debit” option;
    2. Enter your PIN number;
    3. Select the amount of cash you would like back;
    4. The total amount of the purchase AND the amount of the cash back will be deducted from your checking account.   Remember to record the transaction in your check register.
  •  
  • Withdraw cash from an ATM
    1. Use your First Bank Debit Card at more than 900,000 ATMs worldwide by entering your PIN;
    2. Select the amount of cash you would like to withdraw from your checking account. Note: The ATM operator may charge you fees to use their ATM and your bank may also charge you a fee at an ATM that they do not own and/or operate.
    3. The withdrawal amount will be deducted automatically from your checking account.  Make sure to record the transaction in your check register.
