August Security Alert - Robo Calls

First Bank is aware of fraudulent robo calls being placed to our clients advising the client that their debit card has been frozen and to provide their account information to remove the frozen status.

First Bank will never call our clients and ask them to provide and/or update personal account information such as, account numbers, PIN numbers, eBanking ID’s and passwords, social security numbers and more. If you have received a call recently and provided someone your account information, please call the First Bank Client Customer Center at 800-760-2265.

It’s amazing how dependent we have become on cell phones and other mobile devices.  More than just making calls, we use them to send and receive emails, keep us on schedule, surf the Internet, perform banking transactions, and more. The added convenience they represent allows us to forget how they can act as a target for individuals wanting access to your accounts or personal data.  We want to pass along some helpful information and tips to help ensure you are doing everything possible to protect your mobile devices.  Be aware of the features of each device and disable any features that can make you vulnerable, like apps asking to use your current location. Use encryption to protect any personal data stored on your phone. Prior to downloading apps look at reviews of the developer/company and make sure you understand any permissions you approve.
